Residential Outreach Specialist


Residential Outreach Specialist will be responsible for outreach and marketing of a program, which is an Income qualified program. The program consists of energy conservation education and installation of weatherization measures to households in targeted areas.


Primary Functions:

Follow-up on leads through various sources in order to market the program
Door-to-door canvassing in targeted areas
Contact eligible customers from lists provided
Referrals from customer calls
Word of mouth from previous customers served
Census track information
Meet with customers to explain the benefits of participation in the program. During the outreach meeting explain the following:
Income eligibility of household residents
Structural eligibility of home for program participation
Purpose of each energy conservation measure and its projected effectiveness
Detailed nature and timing of each phase of the program
Energy conservation education and cost-saving tips to assist them in setting energy savings goals
While at customer's home
Determine income eligibility of household residents
Determine structural eligibility of the home for program participation
As part of the outreach and enrollment process, provide energy conservation education and cost-saving tips to residents and assist them in setting energy saving goals
Complete paperwork and obtain required documentation from program eligible households for enrollment
As part of the enrollment process, have customer sign all necessary forms and complete the file for enrollment.
Maintain accurate and legible records of all enrolled customers using the program forms
Turn all completed enrollment paperwork to office for processing
Other job related duties as directed to achieve outreach and marketing goals


Minimum Requirements

Must have High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a reliable vehicle for travel
Must have minimum level insurance on vehicle
Must have valid California driver's license in good standing
Must have a minimum one year work experience in any type of environment
Preferred: some background in door-to-door canvassing
Preferred: sales, customer service or teaching experience
Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment
Excellent communication skills
Preferred: bilingual capability
Familiarity with geographic San Diego County
Outgoing and friendly
Pleasant personality who enjoys interacting with people from various backgrounds
Must be self-motivated with desire to meet and exceed enrollment goals
Good work ethic
Willing to venture into a variety of communities
May involve extended periods of time walking and/or driving
Work week will be Monday through Friday rotating every third week Tuesday through Saturday
Must be available to occasionally work additional evenings or weekends if necessary to meet enrollment goals
Must pass pre-employment screening including a drug test and criminal background check


Compensation: $14.00 base pay plus incentive


Potential Compensation: Top producers in Residential Outreach Specialist position can potentially earn up to $60,000 or more annually through bonus and incentive
