We are seeking an experienced compensation professional to lead our newly reorganized compensation consulting team.
Overview:
Lead a team to provide holistic consulting on all non-executive compensation matters for Discover’s global employees. Combine both company and business strategy to help create and execute on a coherent and dynamic compensation philosophy and strategy. Through analysis and research on competitive practices, ensure Discovers pay programs are aligned with Discover’s strategy and industry practice and designed to attract, retain and motivate our employees. Partner with and provide guidance to senior HR and business professionals to address compensation related issues as they arise. Develop and lead additional projects as necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the design of all non-executive compensation programs including company-wide annual cash bonus and merit programs.
• Responsible for the design, administration, and optimization of the Companys sales and production based incentive plans and recognition programs.
• Manage the compensation consulting team to ensure their ability to provide increasingly effective and robust analytics and strategic support to business and HR partners.
• Partner with Manager, Compensation Operations to implement and operationalize Company-wide programs including the annual merit, bonus, and equity decision processes.
• Partner with Manager, Compensation Operations to establish and monitor all compensation plans and procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations.
• Manage relationships with various partners (e.g. Corporate Risk, Legal, Finance, Accounting, HR generalists) to ensure team objectives are met.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree with 10 + years compensation related experience
• Blend of consulting and corporate experience and at least 3 years demonstrated management experience preferred
• Excellent collaboration, leadership and team building skills
• Detail oriented, highly organized
• Ability to effectively present in front of large audiences and senior level management
• Proven track record of written communication and project management skills
• Experience in the design of base pay and sales compensation programs
• High degree of proficiency in Microsoft office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is a necessity
• Advanced degree in HR, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
