Description: General Summary:Coordinate all purchasing related activities between the company and Automobile Parts suppliers. Meet with suppliers on a regular basis to determine and optimize progress and discuss future activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):Select, develop and manage supply base for production parts, components and systems by:Preparing RFQ's for multi-year full production quantities, Negotiating long term agreements Maintaining competitive pricing Leading yearly cost reduction activities Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performanceMonitor supplier performance and initiate corrective action, where appropriate.Develop annual specific expectations for suppliers based on company goals and objectivesExplore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activitiesEvaluate engineering and quality in part designs for suppliers to obtain optimum efficienciesPlan, organize, track and disseminate information related to production suppliersMaintain up to date supply base information databaseTake charge of VAATZ database interactionThe above typical duties are characteristic of this job and demonstrate a level of difficulty and are not intended to list or limit the duties that may be required or assigned to a team member in this classification.QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Competencies):Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline, along with zero (0) to three (3) years of progressively responsible supply chain experience or equivalent combination of education and experience OEM or parts components supplier experience preferred (esp. Body parts) Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills a must. Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.Reasonable accommodations may be made to those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job.
