Humedica is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT team. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of Humedica's IT infrastructure.  This is a role offering considerable opportunity to use your knowledge and creativity to build robust and scalable solutions.

Primary responsibilities:

• Core IT infrastructure including VMware vSphere server clusters and Compellent Fibre Channel petabyte-scale SANs


• Customer-facing highly-available Puppet-managed web applications running on Linux and Windows servers


• A data pipeline built around Oracle and Hadoop on Linux servers


• Corporate systems including Active Directory, Exchange, Asterisk, Confluence, JIRA...


• In addition you will collaborate on and own major IT projects such as the build-out of a disaster recovery capability play a key role in improving the scalability of Humedica's data pipeline through shifting workload from Oracle to Hadoop

Required Qualifications:

• A calm, easy-going, happy demeanor coupled with good communication, a sense of humor, and eagerness to learn new things


• 3+ years of experience managing Linux-based systems


• Strong facility/comfort with one of Python, Ruby, or Perl


• Solid understanding of IP networking protocols and concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Windows Server administration


• vSphere/ESX administration


• Linux configuration management  (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible...)


• Network administration/architecture


• Storage/SAN administration


• Web application release management


• Database administration


• Hadoop and related ecosystem


• Small company experience
