Southwest Medical Associates (SMA) is a multi-specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, consisting of over 200 providers, fourteen clinical locations including nine health care centers, five urgent care clinics and an outpatient surgery center. SMA offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout southern Nevada. SMA is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.


 


The Senior RN /Team Lead coordinates the care of the acutely ill patients that present to the Urgent Care.  They are needed for IV antibiotic therapy and assist in the coordination of care between the primary care teams. They handle issues/problems/potential problems with their patients.  Helps coordinate with the provider's lab, culture, and x-ray results to ensure proper treatment of those patients seen in the Urgent Care setting.  The RN ensures efficient flow of patients through the Urgent Care visit.  


 


Positions in this function include RN (with current licensure) and is responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care in a clinic/urgent care setting. 
 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide supervision to clinical and non-clinical staff daily

  • Provide direct patient care and delegate to staff as appropriate

  • Develop and monitor staff assignments on a daily basis and re-evaluate as needed

  • Responsible for managing and directing patient flow in the Urgent Care

  • Participate in the selection, hiring, orientation and development of clinical staff

  • Ensure standards of care are implemented and in compliance with all state and federal regulations, standards of practice, and SMA & SHS policies and procedures, help training of new personnel, and help with staff coaching and counseling

  • Participate in bi-monthly on call rotation.

 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • Registered Nurse with active unrestricted license in the State of Nevada


  • 2+ years acute care nursing experience

  • CPR certified

  • ACLS willing to obtain within 6 months hire

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to perform these functions on a regular basis, such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, twisting and reaching

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare or related field

  • 2+ years acute care nursing experience in Critical Care, ICU, Cardiac, ER or Urgent Care

  • 1+ years charge nurse/team lead experience
