Sr. Accountant I - Full-time

As a Senior Accountant I, you will be a part of our clients Finance department. In this role, you will be responsible for complex accounting, analysis and reporting activities in support of operations.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing monthly schedules, account reconciliations and other month end requirements for assigned general ledger accounts
Preparing journal entries and reviewing accounting classifications assigned to various records.
Working closely with other departments in preparation of analyses, journal entries, and account
reconciliation.
Performing Accounts Payable duties including receipt and process of vendor invoices and preparation and disbursement of company payments.
Performing Accounts Receivable duties including creation and distribution of customer invoices and processing of payments received.
Creating and analyzing moderate to complex financial reports and records including working capital, performance management, sales analysis and forecasting.
Maintaining spreadsheets and databases to facilitate analysis and reporting.
Assisting in the development and compliance of financial and accounting policies and procedures.
Serving as a project leader for small to moderately complex projects within the department.

Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree is required. CPA or MBA is preferred.
* 4 or more years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance. Previous Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
* 4 or more years of experience with various computer applications to include MS Excel and/or MS Access.
* Advanced knowledge of professional accounting principles, theories, concepts and terms.
* Experience in the health insurance industry is preferred.
* 2 or more years experience managing projects of varying sizes and complexity is preferred
* Proficiency in the use of an automated general ledger and/or various other accounting statements or reports.
