To be part of a small senior team that is charged with providing evaluation, diligence, recommendations and implementation support for key strategies and strategic initiatives for Acosta. The strategies encompass both enhancements inside the core business, as well as investigation of new potential revenue and profit streams.

Core business strategies include
  • supporting major new client selling efforts
  • assessing new/differentiated go to market models
  • developing enhanced core business capabilities (e.g. tools, processes, analytics)
  • investigating cost efficiency measures
  • evolving overall company strategy


New revenue areas include
  • new channel strategies
  • new geographies (international)
  • new product/business models to penetrate new clients and client markets
  • alliances and partnerships to develop new offerings
  • mergers and acquisitions


Food industry is very mature, yet has never been more dynamic that today. The Corporate Strategy team (and this position) is charged with developing and supporting the medium and long term growth strategies for the company. The pace of change is increasing around data and technology, shopper behaviors and the ultimate purchase decision, store formats, branding and brand equity, as well as intense pressure on various portions of the industry cost structures. Acosta is the leading food sales agency and must continue to enhance and evolve its business model and service offerings. The Corporate Strategy team is paramount to the continued long term growth objectives and industry leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Support core business functions – Plan, manage, and structure work, as well as drive execution of client projects, while guiding and directing junior team members, and securing delivery of high quality team output
  • Strategic development – Provide thought leadership and creative insights to help identify, clarify, and resolve complex issues critical to clients’ strategic and operational success
  • Analytic proficiency – Develop key hypotheses and insights; define and manage all data collection initiatives, structure sophisticated analyses, and manage daily interaction with clients to establish required breadth and depth
  • Fact based/research solutions – provide facts/data to support and substantiate desired actions/dispel myths
  • Presentation development – Produce clear, persuasive, and concise written presentations, and deliver both formal and informal presentations internally and externally
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with team members and foster a productive teamwork environment.
  • Managing effectively resource requirements, project workflow, budgets and status updates
  • Identifying and addressing internal/external client needs: build, maintain, and utilize networks of trusted client relationships
  • Facilitating working sessions of medium to large sized groups
  • Managing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience performing statistical analysis, business analysis and modeling, simulation and optimization related to acquisition and merger opportunities
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with a top tier strategy consulting firm
  • CPG Experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Project Management and PowerPoint
  • Strong modeling and analysis expertise to produce effective business reviews.
  • Proven extensive operational knowledge of Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures including pre-deal operations and information technology due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, synergy and cost savings analysis, and/or post-close transformation, with thorough knowledge of two or more of the following functional areas: Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Operations/Supply Chain, and/or Sales and Marketing
  • Communicating effectively in written and oral formats to various situations and audiences
  • Delivering significant business results that reflects strategic and creative thinking, problem solving, individual initiative
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with the capability to structure and oversee sophisticated analyses
  • Excellent judgment, mature personality, and experience working with executives
