CNC Machine Operator

SUMMARY:

Program (using Master Cam software), setup, and operate CNC lathes.  (More than one machine) Work in coordination with the production schedule/scheduler to achieve on-time deliveries. 

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

High School or equivalent preferred. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Six months of experience in machining of metals. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Program and operate CNC machines
• Perform all tooling and setup on CNC machines
• Layout jobs and make changes in setups according to situations in processes
• Assist in trouble-shooting machining problems
• Work with minimum supervision
• Work with the production schedule/scheduler to achieve on-time deliveries
• Manufacture quality components
• Perform other duties as assigned 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR KNOWLEDGE UPON QUALIFICATION IN POSITION:

• Practical knowledge of metal cutting feeds and speeds
• Practical knowledge of CNC programming
• Experience in CNC operation
• Experience in machining equipment setup
• Reading skills
• Basic math skills
• Able to write legibly
• Blueprint reading
• Measurement tools
• Computer skills
• Assembly specific skills/qualification check sheets
• Able to follow directions 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Repetitive hand/arm movement
• Pushing pulling
• Bending/stooping
• Lifting up to 35lbs
• Standing for long periods of time
• Limited sitting
• Heat controlled environment/not air conditioned
• Color perception and vision requirements
