SUMMARY OF ROLE: 

Exceed our customers’ evolving expectations by ensuring World Class support to all locations in order to provide a pleasant and rewarding shopping experience.   Our DC Maintenance and Equipment Foreman is responsible for managing all aspects of the forklift and pallet jack maintenance for the Distribution Center, Facilities and the stores through hiring, training, goal setting, decision-making, supervising, retaining, and collaborating with employees and other management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have three years experience as a forklift technician.

  3. Ability to demonstrate leadership through his or her own example.
  4. Must project a clean and professional appearance.

  11. Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  12. Ability to learn and utilize computer applications.
  13. Must be 18 years of age.
  14. Must consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background investigation.   

ESSENTIAL SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

  1. Recruit, interview and select employees.
  2. Supervise, direct, set goals and delegate tasks using independent judgment.
  3. Arrange for ongoing training and communication with all employees working within your area. 
  4. Cultivate growth through the development of high potential employees.
  5. Evaluate, coach, reward, recognize employees and celebrate successes.
  6. Handle conflict and counsel employees that require disciplinary actions up to and including termination. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Create weekly scheduled shifts and handle scheduling conflicts, control payroll costs.
  2. Perform electrical work on equipment and general Distribution Center maintenance.
  3. Schedule forklift repairs.
  4. Order replacement parts for equipment.
  5. Implement a preventative maintenance program.
  6. Meet with vendors regarding pricing of parts and the purchasing of new equipment.
  7. Control inventory of equipment and parts.
  8. Negotiate prices for parts and equipment directly with new vendors.
  9. Encourage and promote Company contests, promotions, and programs.
  10. Train employees to use Forklifts and pallet jacks.
  11. Maintain mechanical portion of the banana rooms.
  12. Collaborate with all areas and employees to ensure interdependence throughout the Company.
