Responsibilities

The overall objective is to support the retailer, its staff and its infrastructure to maximize merchandising exposure, product “sell through” and customer satisfaction. This will be accomplished through the execution of company strategies by educating in-store personnel on product knowledge, features/benefits and competitive landscape of the platform, sell-thru assessment, inventory replenishments, coordination and communications with merchandising partner(s), and the creation of in-store staff level knowledge & retail outlet integration with  product usage, merchandising and/or promotions.

  • Develop strong “in-store” customer relationships with store managers, department managers and retail employees on a regular basis. Determine in-store employee schedules to review priorities; discuss sales goals, expectations, product promotions, new products' features, and market positioning. Ability to influence and work effectively with local management (decision-makers) is a key component. Must acquire knowledge of and coordinate for chain's yearly promotional schedule for high traffic marketing events.
  • Assess performance of the retail channel with data reports for management that convey chain and local store overall performance including display & pricing analysis of competitors' products. Monitor sales, provide forecasts for sales & inventory purposes, inspect inventory levels, provide out-of-stock replenishments, and monitor in-store promotional materials along with VOC (retail reps) input on customer feedback regarding overall product value proposition.
  • Provide all retail sales employees with special promotions; gauge customer reaction and promotion success rate. Forward observations to management, etc.  Coordinate with marketing and sales team on any necessary follow-up components with customers for the retail channel. Ability to influence and negotiate with local management (decision-makers) is key. Consistent feedback to management is critical to success.     
  • Assist and coordinate, with appropriate quality measures, methods to improve the overall retail channels' performance, processes and customer experience.
  • This position requires the ability to observe, identify and solve problems at the store level in order to maintain standards established by the company and retailer to ensure 100% customer satisfaction of this product's features. Therefore, audits/secret shopping and store checks will be performed regularly and it is the responsibility of this position to proactively resolve any issues that  may arise as a result of these audits & secret shopping visits.
  • This person will be the eyes and ears of the field; he/she will be assisting in the creating, communicating, and executing of a strategy that will assist in reaching sales goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing) required
  • 3-5 years’ experience required; 6-10 years’ experience preferred
  • Understands concepts behind sales figures and programs, promotions & product plans
  • Candidate must be computer proficient / MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in document and data management
  • Ability to process data and formulate into reports to supervisors in a clear concise manner
  • Familiarity with pricing, inventory status, rebates, logistics, etc.
