The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for activities associated with credentialing or re-credentialing physicians and providers, including processing provider applications and re-applications including initial mailing, review, and loading into the database tracking system ensuring high quality standards are maintained. Credentialing Coordinators will assist with audits and provide feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Require little assistance with standard and non-standard requests.
- Solve routine problems on own.
- Work with supervisor to solve more complex problems.
- Prioritize and organize own work to meet agreed upon deadlines.

- Able to address sensivitive issues and accurately gather information to ensure completion of daily work within the required timeframes.
- Moderate work experience within own function.
- Some work is completed without established procedures.
- Basic tasks are completed without review by others.
- Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High
School Diploma/GED - Ability
to create and edit documents in MS Word. - Ability
to create spreadsheets, enter data, and sort and filter in MS Excel. - 1+
year of previous healthcare industry experience - Ability to obtain favorable
adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 . - United
States Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Credentialing
experience. - Data
Entry experience. - Knowledge
of the NCQA (National Counsel for Quality Assurance) and state
regulations. - Bachelor's
Degree
As
a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this
position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication
following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 ,
(the National Agency Check or “NACâ€).
Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued
employment in this role. NAC processing
will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6
months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin
employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance,
and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NAC approval will
result in termination from this role.
