The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for activities associated with credentialing or re-credentialing physicians and providers, including processing provider applications and re-applications including initial mailing, review, and loading into the database tracking system ensuring high quality standards are maintained. Credentialing Coordinators will assist with audits and provide feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance. 

Positions in this function are responsible for all activities associated with credentialing or re-credentialing physicians and providers. Includes processing provider applications and re-applications including initial mailing, review, and loading into the database tracking system ensuring high quality standards are maintained. Conducts audits and provides feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance. Responsible for the development of credentialing policies and procedures. May oversee primary source verification activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Some work is completed without established procedures.
  • Basic tasks are completed without review by others.
  • Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks.

Requirements



Required Qualifications:



  • High
    School Diploma/GED
  • Ability
    to create and edit documents in MS Word.
  • Ability
    to create spreadsheets, enter data, and sort and filter in MS Excel.
  • 1+
    year of previous healthcare industry experience
  • Ability to obtain favorable
    adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 .
  • United
    States Citizenship



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Credentialing
    experience.
  • Data
    Entry experience.
  • Knowledge
    of the NCQA (National Counsel for Quality Assurance) and state
    regulations.
  • Bachelor's
    Degree

As
a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this
position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication
following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 ,
(the National Agency Check or “NAC”). 
Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued
employment in this role.  NAC processing
will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6
months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin
employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance,
and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will
result in termination from this role.
