Responsibilities:

The IT Software Engineer reports to the IT Development Manager as part of the Information Technology team. This role develops, maintains, and provides production support for Information Systems, such as JDA, SAP, PKMS, and .Net applications, used throughout the company. This role works closely and collaboratively with other Software Engineers and with the Project Management resources on the IT team, such as the Project Manager, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance Analysts, along with business users from all At Home departments to design, develop, implement, and support all system solutions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Monitor internal work orders, and related external ticketing systems, for assigned tasks related to the support of the corporate application systems.
  • Follow established procedures to meet SOX compliance requirements.
  • Analyze requirements for new applications or modifications to existing applications in order to define the appropriate placement of functionality and data within technology-based business solutions.
  • Provide Level of Effort estimates and timelines to assist Project Management with setting delivery dates on Production Support issue resolution and Enhancement deployments.
  • Author functional and technical design documentation.
  • Apply enterprise standards, policies, patterns and reference architectures to all solutions.
  • Promote the use of shared applications and reusable components to reduce costs and improve information flows.
  • Develop application and system changes in accordance with approved design documentation.
  • Engage in code review of changes made by peer developers.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure support personnel to define operational aspects of business solutions (security, network, integration, etc.)
  • Unit test new and modified applications.
  • Assist QA resources with the definition of test cases and setup of test scenarios for QA and UAT testing.
  • Define deployment and backout plans, and schedule implementations.
  • Oversee the deployment and monitoring of application changes.
  • Provide production support of applications, including after hours on-call support.
  • Monitor and summarize progress of work orders for management.

  • Retail industry experience preferred, especially related to any of the following areas: store operations, warehouse distribution, store allocation, merchandising, marketing, accounting, and finance.


JDA/PKMS Specific Qualifications:

  • Experience with RPG IV and ILE programming required.
  • Experience with iSeries Query, SQL, CL and other iSeries tools required.
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries operating system and applications required.
  • Knowledge of JDA MMS and PKMS application development environments preferred.


SAP Specific Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP ECC Financial applications, version 6.0 or higher, and ABAP programming required.
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries operating system and applications required.


.Net Specific Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (2010-2013) and SQLServer 2005 or higher required.
  • Experience with Web Development and the following technologies required.
    • C#, Javascript, CSS, XML, HTML, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Webforms.
  • Experience with LINQ-to-SQL or related database access technologies required.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent year-for-year experience required.

Five or more years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting IT applications.

At least 5 years of demonstrated proficiency as a Software Engineer
