Production Scheduler- San Marcos, TX

My client is hiring a Production Scheduler who will create/execute a Master Production Schedule, monitor production status, and prepare, monitor and communicate labor capacity plan on a regular basis in a ETO, CTO, MTO and MTS environment. The Production Scheduler will work to optimize total costs of fulfillment while achieving desired customer service objectives in support of company profitability plans. Throughout the course of the manufacturing process, the Master Scheduler will interact with the Project Teams and Operations ensuring they receive an exceptional level of service while managing their expectations as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plan, schedule, coordinate and approve release of production orders to manufacturing based on material and capacity availability.
* Develop Weekly Master Production Schedule to establish sales commitments and lead time for all Panel products with detail as needed based on customer requirements .
* Analyze production priorities, capacity and availability of equipment/labor/materials while maximizing output
* Release production forecasts to manufacturing
* Establish and maintain metrics package.
* Develop metrics that track efficiency and schedule performance/adherence
* Develop weekly actual versus scheduled performance reporting. Include metrics on explanations of failures to execute production plan.
* Responsible for ongoing development of production and material schedules that support strategies for Sales, inventory levels and capacity utilization; ensures customer service focus from all operations and employees
* Establish stocking levels based on historical data as well as forward looking production projects to plan production by product to ensure market determined lead times can be achieved and maintained.
* Conduct/Facilitate monthly Supply review meetings to review previous production performance and future production requirements.
* Communicate schedule changes, maintenance requirements, shut downs, etc that effect future production plans to Project Teams, Operations and Logistics
* Works daily with Production Supervisors to drive optimal efficiency to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
* Support preparation and documentation of Sales & Operation meetings
* Drive planning and capacity management process improvements
* Improve the efficiencies within the planning organization
* Assessment of skills within site planning organization, including gap analysis with training to close the gaps
* Develop and deploy capacity planning processes to adequately understand 1 - 2 year capacity needs.
* Lead identification of key data required for capacity planning
* Create capacity planning reports describing current status, trends, scenarios and models, analysis, and recommendations
* Provides leadership, direction and/or guidance to less experienced staff
* Evaluation, analysis, and recommendation of enhancements to existing resources and processes to increase throughput
* Manage demand versus sales orders and address anomalies proactively
* Provide production rate analysis to identify and communicate to director of Manufacturing
* Provides detailed status reports (written and/or verbal) of tasks and difficulties encountered enabling managers to initiate escalation if necessary and assess areas where changes or additional support may be warranted
* Plan, improve, and measure OTD to internal & external customers for Panel product lines
* Plan and implement processes related to the timely, cost-effective management of material flow, for the panel product lines
* Analyze and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance / change order
* Ensure that schedule related data from vendors, suppliers and engineering of actual projects is provided as feedback into the planning and scheduling systems
* Candidate will need to balance multiple projects and must be flexible and able to balance / prioritize multiple priorities.
* Business travel as necessary (up to 5%)
