Aerotek is currently looking for an Import/Export Specialist in the Eden Prairie, MN area.

JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is primarily responsible for executing import/export compliance initiatives. Candidates are responsible for partnering with freight forwarders, governmental customs agencies, customs brokers and business units to coordinate information for submission to government agencies and assist in establishing procedures to achieve compliance. They are responsible for integrity of data declared to the government. Responsible for the creation of training materials, and for conducting training in import/export compliance. Must ensure all departments are following procedures as outlined in the company compliance manual. Assist in the C-TPAT program.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Customs Documentation:

  • Primary liaison with customs broker(s) for day-to-day activity as well as issue resolution
  • Audit import/export documents in advance of shipments and review for completeness and accuracy of data required to perform customs entry process, to include Importer Security Filing (ISF) at origin
  • Maintain compliance of import/export activity through documentation, reporting and maintaining current with Bureau of Customs, Border Protection, Census Bureau, and other government agency regulations
  • Maintain metrics associated with customs clearance
  • Maintain import/export records and documents
  • Develop and maintain a duty drawback process for Milestone
  • Prepare and file NAFTA agreements as requested or required

C-TPAT:

  • Assist in the maintenance of Milestone's C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program including conducting employee training, audits, and documentation
  • Lead Milestone's C-TPAT Council meetings and facilitate actions


Import/Export Manual Compliance:

  • Primary contact for Milestone with regard to technical information relative to customs, import/export processes and procedures
  • Understand and assist in development of business unit import/export processes globally
  • Develop and conduct training around import/export compliance for internal customers
  • Continued maintenance of Milestone's Import/Export Compliance Manual
  • Maintain item level classification of HTS codes, Schedule B codes, and ECCN classifications with support such as binding rulings (whether ours or another company's)
  • Coordinate with the Shipping/Receiving departments to ensure quantity discrepancies are noted and reported to customs brokers
  • Responsible for timely and accurate responses to government inquiries, work with business units to obtain needed information

International Transportation:

  • Act as primary point of contact for any international logistics or freight issues
  • Maintain monthly metrics associated with international logistics
  • Assist in partner identification and new partner qualification


International Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist Job Description

  • Work with the Director of Global Procurement on the data requirements and analysis for generation of the annual ocean RFQ and Milestone Routing Guide maintenance
