In this Enterprise Architect role, you will be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications plan, including the components required to support it and in the integration of corporate and business architecture and applications.

Primary responsibilities:


 




  • Research, analyze, design and provide oversight in implementing IT solutions addressing complex areas for specific business and technical domains


  • Work with business and IT owners, analysts, solution engineers, development teams and infrastructure services to communicate solution architectures


  • Evaluate tools and technologies in the context of the future state architecture, and evolving business requirements


  • Conduct vendor analysis and proof-of-concepts for new technologies/solutions as needed


  • Participate in the design of system and application architectures on the basis of cost, functionality and practicality


  • Facilitate open communication and fact-based decision making


  • Collaborate within and across teams to establish and document best practices in various technology areas


  • Provide technology operational support as new systems/platforms are rolled out to the enterprise

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • 8 or more years of experience in IT Solution delivery and architecture

  • 5 or more years of experience in building multi-tier applications using Java EE or .Net technologies

  • Experience in communicating complex technical information effectively and appropriately to IT Senior Executives and business stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services topics and techniques: ESB, XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL and WSDL

  • Proven ability evaluating technologies, contrasting capabilities and making recommendations

  • Proven ability to rapidly deliver prototypes (hands on) and proof-of-concept work to validate a proposed architectural approach

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture framework such as TOGAF or Zachman



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience with Big Data related technologies including tools and frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, Map R, HDFS, Hbase, Sqoop, Pig

  • Strong knowledge and/or experience of health care industry

  • Experience with UHG Systems and technologies

  • API management tools such as Layer7, Mashery

  • Knowledge of ESB/Gateway such as Webspehere WMB, Data Power

  • Knowledge of Cloud architecture
