Animal Care Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Job Description:

- Compassionate care is the top priority for all animals.
- Keeps kennels clean, orderly and free of odors.
- Ensures that kennel areas are clean, orderly and safe for animals.
- Feeds animals as scheduled and according to guidelines and make sure that have water at all times.
- Complies with specific feeding programs related to behavioral enrichment for specific animals.
- Ensures that animals have socialization daily.
- Exercises/socializes animals daily and abides by exercise program in place for each dog/cat.
- Documents necessary animal information for management or veterinary staff. Ensures the comfort and cleanliness of all animals.
- Bathes or cleans animals immediately if they become soled with urine, blood, or feces.
- Takes inventory of stock supplies as needed.
- Cleans laundry as needed.
- Advises Supervisor of any conditions that are unsafe including unrecognized hazards or infractions of safety rules.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in animal science preferred but not required.
- Two or more years animal care experience in a veterinary environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to multitask and have strong team player mentality and exceptionally positive attitude.
