Machine Operator / Warehouse Worker

Manufacturer in the City of Commerce is currently looking for Production Machine Operators with Computer Skills.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

• Cutting of all door and frame material for fabrication.
• Fabricate architectural aluminum products with various tools and machinery.
• Stock and Modified door fabrication / assembly.
• Stock and Modified frame fabrication / assembly.

REPORTS TO:

Production supervisor

PROVIDES DIRECTION TO:

Shipping personnel for packing instructions, Material Handlers or Door mechanics.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be at work and on time, everyday. Work in a safe manner at all times. Report any injuries, accidents or near misses to your supervisor. Work with door schedule in order to plan daily and weekly cut schedule. Communicate material and tooling needs with supervisor and coworkers. Identify and pull extrusions for daily cutting and punching. Utilize production saw for cutting per our Cutting procedures. Punch materials as required and supply down-stream mechanics with their daily cut material needs. Train co-workers for all of the above. Willingness to work overtime hours, on an as-needed basis.

Other Position Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with fast paced production manufacturing and machine operating
- Strong computer skills
- Must be able use to use hand assembly tools, and measuring instruments
- Adapt at reading work orders
- Be able to and communicate in English effectively, both written and verbally
- Individual must be able to work occasional daily overtime and Saturdays when scheduled
- Individual will be required to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs on a regular basis
- Must be able to work any shift or hours required as needed 1st, 2nd or 3rd
- Must have 5 years of experience in a fast pace production environment
- Must have experience using measuring tape and other measurement instruments
- Must wear steal toed boots while on the job site.

Other duties include but are not limited to: As instructed by Production Manager, Safety personnel, Quality Manager or Plant Manager.

EXPERIENCE (Knowledge by Practicing) SKILL (Ability to do) KNOWLEDGE (Understanding)

1. Read and comprehend sales orders, product labels, fabrication drawings, die drawings and product catalogs.
2. Problem solving skills.
3. Mathematical knowledge and the ability to read a tape measure.
4. Hand tool and fabrication equipment dexterity, knowledge and skill.
5. Minimum 1 to 3-year(s) door/frame fabrication experience.
6. Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor level and 75 pounds from waist level.
