About this job

 Senior Oracle Database Administrator


This position will require you to actively participate in all phases of project development life cycle including database policies, procedures, standards and supporting documentation, database design, process flow analysis, development consulting, benchmark analysis, performance/tuning, capacity planning, and production implementation


Production support responsibilities include maximizing system availability, ensuring swift and complete database recovery, optimizing database and availability through ongoing maintenance, and ensure conformance to audit and operating standards


Participate in the evaluation, and recommendation of appropriate hardware and software resources


Assisting with communication interfaces/integration to associated systems


Upholds enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines


Will be required to design, implement and maintain all functions of database systems, including access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology. Monitor overall standards and procedures, assists in integrating various systems. Consults with users, determine requirements and recommends database establishment and utilization.


Must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in the following functional competencies:


-          Database Creation


-          Database Operations/Maintenance


-          Database Tuning/Monitoring/Health Checks


-          Back Up/Restore/Recover Databases


-          Perform Database Decommissioning/Archiving

-          Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience


-          10+ years - Oracle Database administration


-          5+ years - Oracle Database administration in a Windows environment


-          5+ years - Oracle Database administration in a UNIX environment


-          5+ years - Oracle ASM storage Experience


-          5+ years - Oracle Grid Control Experience


-          5+ years - Oracle Warehouse builder Experience


-          5+ years - Oracle Workflow Experience


Assets


-          SQL Server Database Administration experience desirable


-          Software Development experience desirable


-          Datawarehouse experience desirable


-          Healthcare Industry experience desirable
