Position Summary


This individual will be responsible for guiding the evolution of Time Warner Cable advanced analytics platforms (SAS and Tableau), researching and recommending innovative analytics technologies, and providing Level 2 IT support to SAS and Tableau users.

Essential Job Functions:


- Oversees the day to day health and utilization of SAS and Tableau environments

- Conducts periodic audits to ensure that all aspects of the SAS and Tableau environments are tuned and optimized

- Performs SAS and Tableau platform configuration and performance optimization

- Manages SAS and Tableau vendor relationships and engagement

- Provides Level 2 IT support to SAS and Tableau users

- Diagnoses software problems and engineers fixes, workarounds and software patches

- Conducts capacity planning for the SAS server grid and Tableau cluster

- Oversees the upgrades of SAS and Tableau technology stack and software versions. Engages with other TWC IT teams such as DBAs, Infrastructure, Storage and Networking when their involvement is required

- Develops and documents technical standards and best practices for using advanced analytics tools in the context of TWC data warehousing environment.

- Provides guidance and support to the technical team and analytic users on best practices for using SAS and Tableau

- Maintains technical architecture diagrams and overall environment documentation

- Ensures that analytics platforms are compliant with applicable regulations, TWC standards, policies and long-term technical strategies

- Assesses and cultivates long-term strategic goals for advanced analytics in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.

- Provide analytics expertise, thought leadership, and direction to BI engagement teams.

- Researches, tests, evaluates and recommends new advanced analytics technologies and features

Job Requirements:


- Understands the fundamental concepts, architectural principles and best practices of Business Intelligence, Analytics and Data Warehousing

- Familiar with data warehouse design patterns such as 3NF, dimensional modeling and star schemas

- Desire/passion to explore and learn new analytics technologies and tools

- Deep experience with SQL for manipulating, filtering, aggregating, and analyzing data

- Experience with SAS programming and SAS connectivity to database engines including Netezza, SQL Server and/or Teradata

- Experience in building solutions on Tableau platform and good understanding Tableau Architecture

- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical persons orally and in writing

- Must be comfortable working with minimal direction in a matrixed organization. Attention to detail and sense of urgency in completing multiple assignments within aggressive timelines

- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:


- 5+ years progressive experience in data warehousing and analytics/business intelligence tools in large-scale, complex analytics environments, with numerous data sources and a diverse user base

- 3+ years of experience with SAS applications: SAS Enterprise Guide, Grid Manager, Base SAS, SAS Management Console, Enterprise Miner, Office Analytics

- 3+ years of experience in SAS administration including installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting

- 2+ years of experience in managing solutions using Tableau and in administration/tuning of Tableau server environment

- Experienced in supporting end users of SAS & Tableau platforms

- Proficient in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems, especially in scripting on these platforms

- Experience with high-end data warehousing database platforms such as Netezza, Teradata and/or Exadata

- Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop is a plus

- Experience in cable or another telecommunications service provider is a plus

Education and Experience:


- Level 3: Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
