The Hotel and Conference Center at NorthPointe is seeking an outgoing and dynamic professional to join our Executive Committee in this important role responsible for the administration, coordination, and execution in planning, scheduling, and delivering on our guests’ expectations for conferences, workshops, meetings and all other related functions held in our event spaces.  The Director of Conference Services ensures the effectiveness, comfort, and convenience of our event space accommodations for each conference guest and their programs.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Ensure the guest meeting experience at NorthPointe is reflective of a distinct, sophisticated events campus.
  • Coordinate, schedule, plan, implement, and execute the conferences and programs held in our event spaces.
  • Greet, respond to, and maintain contact with clients while on site.
  • Supervise and manage hourly associates to ensure events are properly detailed, that our diverse group occupancy works well together, and the quality of accommodations, event space, F&B, AV and related services.
  • Maintain department operating budget and accounting processes as it relates to the conference center.
  • Develop policies/procedures regarding department operations in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Infuses creativity and enthusiasm to bring energy to the conference center environment with the goal of providing a unique meeting experience for our guests.
  • Interview, trains and supervises staff.
  • Encourage and trains the overall safety culture of department.
  • Organization of storage spaces within the conference center.
  • Complete purchasing for functions at the conference center.
  • Ensure what we promise guests, we are able to deliver within the confines of our space and services.
  • Communicate all details of groups to ensure entire team is aware of the client’s expectations to ensure superior guest satisfaction.
  • Resolve any guest issues through resolution and satisfaction, exceeding the guests’ expectations.
  • Work closely with our internal tenants to ensure their office spaces are comfortable and conducive to accomplishing work goals.

 

Our attractive compensation package includes a $55,000.00 annual salary (commensurate with experience), medical, dental, Life, 401k with match, STD/LTD, vacation, PTO, dining and travel discounts, special offers from our business partners, and discount programs for selected cell phone providers.

Requirements

  • Passionate about guest service.
  • Must be able to see the bigger picture of the daily operations to ensure guest and associate satisfaction.
  • Executive presence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task is required.
  • Ability to plan, direct and evaluate operations.
  • Ability to organize a team effectively while maintaining effective relationships.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to address guest and associate issues to resolution and satisfaction.
  • Delphi/Maestro experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of A/V.
  • Knowledge of F&B.
  • Knowledge of meeting planning processes.
  • Additional job related education may substitute for required experience.
  • CMP strongly preferred.
  • 2-3 Years Conference Planning Experience.
  • 2-3 Years Conference/Event Management in Hospitality.
  • 3-5 Years Supervisory Experience.
