REM Wisconsin is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse for the Northwestern area of Wisconsin, specifically the Superior and surrounding areas.
We support adults with physical and developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for the oversight of the medical well-being of individuals who live in residential settings, with staff support.
Duties include:
- Initial and on-going assessment of client health needs
- Training for clients and staff
- Monitoring of complex medical situations and/or significant behavioral challenges
- Oversight and required RN visits for individuals assisted through the MAPC program
Requirements include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- One year experience working with adults with disabilities
- Willingness to travel with personal vehicle
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter along with confidence to pursue a nursing practice autonomously
- Hours need to be flexible to meet the needs of the clients
Job Description for Registered Nurse
Oversees the management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services. Maintains contact with primary care physicians and specialists, and, when indicated, attends doctor visits with mentor and/or individual receiving services. Promotes health and wellness for individuals and ensures nursing actions and steps are put in place for prevention. Administers medications according to established guidelines. Provides documentation for all medications given and reviews medication administration records for compliance. May actively participate in IDT meetings, Human Rights Committee, Health and Safety Committee and Administration meetings.
Provides consultation and technical assistance to staff and mentors regarding home care issues along with operation of durable medical equipment. May be required to coordinate, organize and/or assist with household activities such as light housekeeping and meal preparation; transport individuals receiving services to planned and/or necessary activities and appointments. Participate in on call system as needed.
