Phlebotomist - Full-time / Part-time

Specific Location: Cedar Crest, North East side of Albuquerque

We are looking for individuals that are interested in an organization that is growing nationally in the healthcare community here in New Mexico and throughout the United States.

The organization offers a patented test that sets their organization apart from other national laboratories, specializing in cardiovascular health. It also offer a variety of other lab tests and services depending on the provider/patient requests.

The responsibilities and duties of the Phelobotomist will include: having direct contact/communication with physicians, nurses and patients on pre and post care health concerns. They will be required to perform all functions of Phlebotomy from start to finish. There will be no one else to help out or assist if this person cannot do the draw. . There will be no supervision when drawing from a patient, so you must be confident of your skills . That is why we are looking for candidates with a minimum of atleast three years of direct phlebotomy experience.

* Dispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
* Draw blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, or butterfly venipuncture methods.
* Dispose of blood or other bio-hazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
* Draw blood from capillaries by dermal puncture, such as heel or finger stick methods.
* Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer.
* Organize or clean blood-drawing trays, ensuring that all instruments are sterile and all needles, syringes, or related items are of first-time use.
* Collect fluid or tissue samples, using appropriate collection procedures.
* Collect specimens at specific time intervals for tests, such as those assessing therapeutic drug levels.
