The Senior Healthcare Economic Analyst will research and investigate key business problems through quantitate analysis of utilization and healthcare cost data. Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions. Identifies potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative strategies. Provides data in support of actuarial, financial, and utilization analyses. The Senior Healthcare Economic Analyst will develop best of class decision support that delivers robust, meaningful reporting of data and interpretation of data with focus on quality improvement and reductions in medical cost. 


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Promote an environment that is aligned with the vision of the management team

  • Lead and execute high impact analyses that deliver historical performance in a manner that promotes actionable items consistent with quality and cost objectives

  • Lead and execute development of predictive modeling that yields flexible impact analyses that allow for changes to key performance assumptions

  • Collaborate with functional areas in the supervision of project personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; provide feedback for performance evaluation and make recommendations for personnel actions

  • Assess daily department operations and identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and assess resource loads and make appropriate individual/team recommendations

  • Responsible for effective use of NAMM-Illinois investments in decision support tools (e.g. MedInsight, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel)

  • Build, develop, manage and mentor decision support team capable of carrying out strategies while enhancing employee experience

  • Responsible for employee training and development as a part of decision support

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • BA/BS Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in Decision Support

  • 5+ years healthcare experience

  • Intermediate or better level of proficiency in MS Access and MS Excel

  • Knowledge of medical Terminology (CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS, LOINC, NDC, ect)

  • Must work effectively with Senior-level executives

  • Must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills, maturity and good judgment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals

  • Demonstrated level of professionalism

  • Positive attitude and ability to motivate others

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

  • Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, procedure manuals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively synthesize requests for information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; ability to analyze data using linear regressions, R-squared regressions and other common statistical techniques 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables; ability to understand and effectively incorporate information technology requirements/programming challenges into project planning and execution process
