Primary Responsibilities:
- Checking in patients, conducting an initial assessment and completion of medical paperwork and helping to make the patient experience as positive as possible
- Provide direct support to the Provider on a daily basis in providing superior patient care
- Responsible for completing all pre-visit documentation and conducting various procedures such as gathering vital sign information signs, conducting blood draws if necessary
- Completion/review of required Health Risk Assessment and risk factor screenings
- Assist with prepping charts for exams, outreach and scheduling for patients and general management of tasks for follow-up. Enter charges correctly and collect appropriate payments
- Run moderate to complex testing and labs such as EKG's & PFT's
- Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
- Receives direction from Supervisor, Clinic Operations, and RN Manager. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team and supports Patient satisfaction goals
- Resolves moderately complex issues and defers appropriately to supervision
- Employees are involved in direct patient care (in a clinic, in-home care, etc.)
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant certificate
- 1+ years as Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Phlebotomy Certification or ability to attain within 30 days of hire
- CPR certification or ability to attain within 30 days of hire
- Experience and the ability to draw blood when needed
- Intermediate computer skills: MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in urgent care, minute clinical, or convenient clinic with both Front and Back office experience
- Working knowledge of Health Insurance: HMO, PPO, Medicare and Medicaid
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
