The
senior database programmer will primarily be an SQL developer developing
and implementing solutions as defined in the business/functional requirements
delivered by IT analysts. The database programmer will develop solutions
using the full suite of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 tools including: SQL
Server Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS.

The programmer will
work with the Constituent Services team and deliver solutions related to
member and provider fulfillment following CMS guidelines to ensure
compliance windows are met. The developer will work hand in hand with
analysts and testers to ensure all steps in the software development
life cycle are followed.

As a senior member of the team, they
will participate in brain storming sessions for possible architecture
improvements and ways to solve problems. They will write requirements
for proposed changes, and develop and implement solutions.

The senior database programmer will work on a rotation schedule to implement production releases

Positions
in this function design, implement and maintain all functions of
database systems, including access, methods and time, device
allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation,
and statistical methodology. Monitors overall standards and procedures,
assists in integrating various systems. Consults with users, determine
requirements and recommends database establishment and utilization.
  • Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
  • Works with less structured, more complex issues.
  • Serves as a resource to others.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a SQL developer
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 tools including: SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS
  • Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior healthcare experience
  • Prior fulfillment experience
  • Proficiency with MS Visio
