Director, Patient Access

Admits patients by directing the admissions process; developing, implementing and maintaining revenue-generating strategies; determining and implementing admissions best-practices; promoting the hospital; maintaining a satisfied patient base. Directs and supervises staff as well as work flow. Effectively leads and supervises all staff in the Admitting Department, including, Pre-registration, ER Registration and PBX Operators. Provides leadership to monitor quality and quantity of work produced and takes action if needed. Enhances patient care delivery system by fostering admissions function interface with the nursing and professional staff, the emergency room, out-patient clinic registration, outpatient surgery, and other special care units; financial, reimbursement, and other supporting systems. Serves and protects the hospital community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or Financial Management or related field. Requires 5-7 years prior Admissions leadership in an acute care hospital organization. Requires 3-5 years prior management experience,patient registration or business office experience. Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
