With minimum direction from the Industry Relations Data and Reporting Manager and leaders from matrixed departments (including Specialty Pharmacy Operations, Industry Relations Business Development, Accounting and IT, etc.), the Report Analyst is responsible for providing ad-hoc and ongoing production reporting and analysis services, root cause analysis, summary of findings, etc in support of initiatives aimed at reporting pharmacy shipment, inventory, adherence information to manufacturers and hubs.

Key responsibilities of the incumbent include facilitating, coordinating, supporting, and executing data retrieval and analysis tasks, using skills in large database management to analyze and report on data issues, providing expert interpretive and educational assistance to end users of data, leveraging complex and varied data/information sources (clinical, financial, and operational) to generate ad-hoc analysis and production reports.
  • Request Coordination – Serves as consultant to clients (internal and external) to insure that information needs are understood, complete requirements and specifications are identified, and the appropriate analysis, research, report, or other support is identified to address those needs. The Data Analyst will also serve as a consultant to other analysts in the department ensuring that data collection, management and analysis techniques are transferred throughout the department.
  • Report Production – Transforms requests, both internal and external, into a useful product with actionable outcomes that utilizes the most credible and efficient data source, subject to relevant materiality levels.  The Data Analyst will have knowledge of the entire pharmacy operations referral life-cycle.  Independently helps prepare report and data audits and analysis.
  • Ad-hoc Queries – Ability to write SQL queries and access data warehouse to support customer data requests and confirm production report logic.
  • Create Documentation – Responsible for documentation of business processes, training, procedures, and work instructions.  Share responsibility for and maintain department reporting inventory, including report content and distribution of data and reports both internally and externally.
  • Analytical Summaries – Identify actionable issues through data interpretation and research and provide summary of trends, observations, and actionable items on standard, ad hoc, audit and new development reports.  Ability to perform root cause analysis of process and system problems pre- and post-implementation and for existing production processes and systems.  Ability to recommend solutions to prevent problem recurrence. 
  • Software Proficiencies – Utilize a variety of software applications and data sources to fulfill new and complex requests.
  • Data Quality – Seek out, identify, document, and initiate resolutions to data quality issues that are discovered in the course of report and analysis development.  Responsible for researching data anomalies and issues.
  • Communication Skillset - Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.  Ability to interact with and present to Senior Leadership.  Ability to deal with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service oriented attitude.  Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships. Must be comfortable communicating with manufacturers, vendors, and customers. 
  • Professional Development – Participate in available training programs and maintain an individual training/education strategy with immediate supervisor.
  • Other Duties – Provide other assistance as designated by the Manager of Industry Relations Data and Reports to support the overall goals of the department and organization.
  • Strategic Plan – In coordination with Department management, specific elements of the Company's Strategic Plan will be identified as focus areas for this Data Analyst position and will be included as Data Analyst responsibilities

Requirements

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, RN or equivalent required
  • 2+ Years experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience in MS Excel, MS Access, and
    SQL. 

Assets:

  • Experience in healthcare data preferred.
  • Other data reporting / data
    warehouse toolset will be considered
  • Cognos experience is greatly
    desired.
