As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be involved in testing for new systems and enhancements of existing applications.  Database technologies utilized may include a variety of Oracle, Teradata, DB2, SQL Server or other enterprise relational databases.  Testing of these applications may involve performing Extract/Transform/Load of data to the Data Warehouse. Data files will be validated with UNIX and SAS.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze and dissect system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute test cases for large business initiatives


• Ability to write test cases and execute testing within a web service environment


• Product test and driving defect resolution


• Assist business users in defining User Acceptance Testing, test cases and plans


• Establish and maintain test cases and test data


• Create and maintain test cases in Quality Center and/or Test Director


• Actively participate in walk-through, inspection, review and user group meetings for quality assurance


• Work with business users, system analysts, designers and programmers to create and analyze various required project documents


• Participate in production implementation verification and being accountable for validating system quality


• Plan, document, evaluate and track testing results to ensure system applications are free from defects


• Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on problems, changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and /or functionality within Information Technology software


• Comply with standards of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans and procedures within information Technology software


• Comply with standards and strategies of the software development life cycle


• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Data Warehouse ETL and QA process


• Participate in Requirements and Design reviews, plan and estimate the QA effort


• Plan test strategies in accordance with project scope and develop schedules to meet delivery dates


• Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures


• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or defect retests, or usability


• Develop process for Data Analysis and testing Data flow


• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation


• Document defects, using a HP Quality Center, and report defects to Project teams


• Identify, analyze, and document problems with functionality , output files or tables


• Monitor defect resolution efforts and track successes


• Create Metrics and status reports for projects


• Support QA management with information for issues escalation or concerns


• Reviews the work of others


• Develops innovative approaches

• Serves as a leader/ mentor

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED


• 2+ years of experience with Quality Assurance testing


• 1+ year of experience with the Agile Methodology


• 1+ years of experience with a relational database


• 1+ years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)


• 1+ years of experience with testing tools such as Quality Center/ALM or Test Manager
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAS Enterprise


• Experience in the healthcare industry


• Experience leading a team


• Experience with SQL Server


• Experience testing in a large, complex data warehouse environment


• Professional communication skills


• Bachelor's degree
