Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels.

PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth. This acquisition enables us to now operate in 800+ retail stores, sell through over 4,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot. This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

The Sr. Channel Manager-Walmart is focused on supporting the development and execution of the strategy that builds preference for all brands and product lines sold at the DIY Customer. This position will deliver on the specific brand, channel and retailer needs. This role is a key source of information in the development of shopper insight, using those insights to differentiate our brands and products within the channel. A successful candidate will also have a firm grasp on managing relationships with large retail customers to maintain a strong partnership and achieve shared objectives.

Key Responibilities Include:

· Marketing: Support the development of channel specific marketing strategies that increase brand preference within the channel by linking to the primary occasions within the channels. Includes: customer communication, retail/co-op advertising, in-store communication, fixture development, promotions, pricing, sales team and associate training, and assortment decisions

· Shopper Insight: Support the development of actionable strategies, based on shopper insights, that will be used for product innovation/repositioning initiatives, assortment decisions, merchandising, and collateral

· In Store Merchandising : Support the development of the merchandising plan, assortment recommendations, shelf sets, and in-store signage/collateral that drives sales, improves ease of shopping, and informs and instructs the end user.

· Pricing: Support the development of a pricing strategy based on competitive analysis of market pricing, brand positioning, and shopper insight

· Budget: Maximize the channel marketing budgets to align with the spend objectives of brand building, volume buiding and/or competitive response. Utilize ROI tools as a measurement of effectiveness where appropriate and ensure all spend is captured and approved prior to commitment

· Communication: Interface, influence and drive alignment across PPG management team, DIY Customer management team, DIY Customer associates, PPG field sales team, brand teams, and other cross functional teams to ensure delivery/execution of channel marketing plans. This will include communications, retail/co-op advertising, innovation, assortment, in-store merchandising, training, and promotional activity.

· Training: In conjunction with HR/training team (as needed) develop DIY Customer associate and PPG field sales associate training programs to support core and new products.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must have thorough marketing knowledge, excellent project management skills and be able to manage multiple product related projects at one time. Excellent Communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a complex sales organization and cross functional teams are required. They must have extensive knowledge of the market place, the ability to think strategically, and strong business acumen.

Superior leadership and influential management skills to build, guide, and motivate a channel marketing team charged with developing and implementing successful programs at The Home Depot.

10+ years of Marketing experience and Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related technical field are required. An advanced Marketing degree or MBA is an extreme plus+.

Travel required is approximately 40% or more.
