Senior Accountant - Full-time / Part-time

Our client, is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on discovery and development of novel first-in-class drugs directed against nuclear transport targets for the treatment of cancer and other major diseases.

Their scientific expertise are focused on the understanding of the regulation of intracellular transport between the nucleus and the cytoplasm.  They have discovered and developed novel, small molecule Selective Inhibitors of Nuclear Export, or SINE, compounds that inhibit the nuclear export protein XPO1.  

Responsibilities

• Month and quarter-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Emphasis on accrual preparation, including clinical trial and related accruals
• Monthly financial statement and internal reporting preparation
• Semi-monthly payroll processing using ADP
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K & proxy statement)
• Assist with SOX implementation and ongoing compliance
• Assist with annual budgeting process

Education and Experience

• BS in Accounting or Finance required
• 3-5 years of industry experience required, biotech experience preferred
• Experience with publically-traded companies preferred
• CPA a plus, but not required
• Experience with Great Plains & ADP preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including significant experience with Microsoft Excel required
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment
