Accounting and Benefits Billing Coordinator

Location:Mansfield, MA

Summary:  The Benefits Billing & Accounting Support person is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department and Benefit Reconciliation Department so that we can continue to provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Assists the Benefit Reconciliation Department
  • Supports the Reconciliation Department in the scanning, filing, and storage of carrier billing and checks
  • Performs general administrative support for all departments as needed
  • Receive and download benefits bills from carrier website
  • Recording received carrier bills on the Benefit Bills Received spreadsheet
  • Creating a billing invoice on a monthly basis reflecting monthly carrier premiums
  • Scan and save monthly benefit packet to company storage drive
  • Provide copy of billing invoice to the assigned Client Account Manager
  • Coordinate with Accounting Department for creation of premium checks
  • Review, verify, save and distribute premium checks
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with Accounts Payable and Receivable cycle
  • Participate in monthly closing and report generation process
  • File maintenance and data entry
  • Other duties assigned on an as needed basis

Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential task satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Our ideal candidate is majoring in accounting with well-developed skills in basic accounting principles, problem solving, mathematics, QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Must have strong administrative skills, excellent organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail
  • Developed computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be willing to learn, have strong initiative, and a drive for success
  • Works efficiently both independently and as a member of a larger team
  • Personable, a good listener, and able to effectively communicate with all staff and client types through both verbal and written means
  • Thrives in a fast-moving environment and is skilled at balancing multiple duties and conflicting deadlines.
  • Exhibits a high degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Reliable and meets all required deadlines
  • Willing and flexible to help with any urgent issues that happen to arise at HR Knowledge, even if they fall outside the immediate scope of the usual daily role at the firm
