A core member of the Project Execution team, providing leadership projects from a hardware/system perspective. This technical position will also require support of the Lifecycle Services business as a subject matter expert related to the DeltaV System hardware, electrical, communications, PCs/Networking and packaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze Power and Grounding (As Found and Requirements)
  • Cutover Planning and Execution
  • Perform Site Initialization and Inspection
  • DeltaV PC/Server and Networking Equipment setup and configuration
  • Assist in Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (inconjunction with System Engineer)
  • Manage Cutover, Commissioning and Loop-check Activities (including DeltaV configuration changes and navigating DeltaV applications)
  • Initialize and Troubleshoot Communications: Ethernet, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, Devicenet

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

  • Associates Degree in Relevant Technical Degree
  • Minimum of 5-10 Years of relevant experience performing similar work in greenfield and retrofit projects
  • Proficiency in A/C and D/C power and grounding
  • Proficiency in the use of electrical test equipment
  • Experienced with DCS and/or PLC control systems
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computers and associated operating systems
  • Competency in motor controls and instrumentation
  • Competency in Ethernet-based and Twisted Pair communications protocols
  • Experience with design and reading/interpretation of engineering design documents such as P&IDs,
  • Electrical One Lines, Plot Plans

Physical and Mental:

  • Ability to function in a high stress environment during Testing, Start-ups, Troubleshooting and Deployment
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who can be effective in a team or a solo assignment
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have good written and verbal communications skills with ability to convey thoughts and negotiate in multidiscipline
  • team environments
  • Able and willing to travel via airplane or long (4-6 hour) car trips to/from customer sites for short visits and/or
  • extended stay visits of a week or longer. Overnight travel is anticipated at an average of 40-50%, and can require extended travel of several weeks during startups.
