This position is responsible for end-to-end implementation of pharmacy benefits. In this role you will interact with multiple layers of OptumRx and UHC implementation teams to ensure implementations are completed on time and within scope. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with account team, validate what is to be implemented for the customer, develop and execute pharmacy implementation strategy, project plan and timeline.
  • Partner with OptumRx and UHC Operations and Implementation teams to manage and prioritize customer needs and implement pharmacy benefit solutions. Develop and maintain strong inter-company relationships to ensure superior customer service 
  • Coordinate with the Optum Rx and UHC Account Management team to ensure the pharmacy portion of the implementation process is executed accurately and on time. This includes reviewing plan for accuracy, presenting benefit detail in a customer meeting with the Optum Rx and arranging for customer sign-off, coordinating file transfers (ORTF, Prior Authorizations, Claims History Files, and Accumulation totals), creating and conducting internal Optum Rx training for new customers (PA, Customer Service, Specialty Pharmacy), confirm and ensure for accuracy of IBAGG and TOPS set-up for new customers and develop and coordinate any customer, member, or pharmacy communications.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate efforts with internal departments for the creation of customer specific PDL and/or pharmacy networks
  • Coordinate formulary/specialty disruption analysis 
  • Work with Health Plan and Functional leaders to proactively identify implementation issues and drive their resolution. 
  • Manage pre-implementation audits 
  • Develop and present presentations for new business customer implementations 
  • Facilitate meetings at various levels of the organization 
  • Monitor, track and report implementation status and performance. 
  • Manage implementation scope changes and resolution. 
  • Identify implementation risks, implement a mitigation/action plan and drive improved outcomes, communicate to senior leadership.
  • 0- 5%  travel required.
  • Manages the implementation of pharmacy benefit plans for Direct clients to ORx
  • Sought out as expert.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years experience in the pharmacy benefit management industry
  • 3+ years experience in a client facing role
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with implementation and/or managing pharmacy benefits
  • Salesforce knowledge
