POSITION PURPOSE

 

The Lead Developer has expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle. Ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. Must present ideas to review boards. The Lead Developer must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design. Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. Assists multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work. Must be able to anticipate hardware and software design needs. The Lead Developer must have the ability to view packages and products to determine their viability within the solution being considered, or if they would be a good solution in other areas.

 

  • Promotes and follows Architectural and Technical standards as defined by the internal architecture teams.
  • Provides guidance to software development staff and operations staff to deliver consistent and supportable applications architecture.
  • Capable of coding the most complex parts of an application in response to a business challenge.
  • Proficient in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Assists multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to the project work.
  • Ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10+ years of core hands-on Java experience.
  • Expert understanding of Unix/Linux scripting and application packaging
  • Recent hands-on experience with JMS, Spring Integration and/or Camel, JDBC,  SQL,  RESTful web services, JDBC, SQL, DB2 or Oracle, Subversion or Git Experience
  • Experience with UI technologies such as AngularJS, Bootstrap, JQuery, Javascript, and HTML5.
  • Have a thorough understanding of integration, programming and enterprise design patterns.
  • Excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle. 
  • Experience in the Retail industry is a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED

 

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
