Positions in this function provide local technical support to UnitedHealth Groups computer user community. Includes installations, upgrades, computing problem resolution, diagnosis of issue severity, recovery and project implementation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for IT equipment, software, and automation systems
- Provide technical knowledge on new technical designs
- Schedule technical upgrades/changes with third party vendors or internal teams
- Gain knowledge of the application processing, vital business functions, SLA's, and application interfaces
- Understand and embrace the SSS organization's Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Provide remote support when required
- Flexible shifts will be required
- Basic, structured, standard approach to work
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years' Microsoft server operating system experience (Windows 2003, 2008)
- 2+ years' experience with desktop support (Windows 7) and desktop deployment software
- Previous hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL or Access Databases
- Previous experience with help desk systems
- General knowledge with serial based communications
- Basic understanding of common networking
- Bachelor's degree or HS Diploma / GED plus 4+ years equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of DC electrical circuits.
- Software programming background in C++,C#, VbScript
- Previous experience with PowerShell
- Experience with automation systems and automation controls
- A+ and Net+ Certification
- Previous experience with RedHat Linux (or equivalent)
