The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks an Associate Video Engineer, for the Content Operations Support Center. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary
Ability to remotely analyze, troubleshoot and implement corrective actions. Successful candidates have experience working in cable Headends, Hubs or an industry vendor, Video Network Operations Center. Prior experience with multicast IP video, IP transport, Headend or Hub device configuration or monitoring tools is required. A two-year Technical Degree and/or up to 3-5 years of experience in Cable Headends, Hubs, VOD, SDV Break-fix capacity is helpful.

Essential Job Functions:
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer will lead and support the four primary functions of the Content Operations organization: Acquisition, Encoding, Transport, and Delivery.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer is responsible for the surveillance of multiple video systems across multiple geographical areas.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer, uses logical troubleshooting processes and implements documented break/fix actions
-Responsible for remotely troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining video services applications, CDN, VOD, SDV and Broadcast services.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer escalates difficult issues requiring higher skills levels to Video Engineers within team.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer applies critical thinking skills to diagnose video impairments and implement documented break-fix measures.
-Works closely with the Video Operations and cross-functional teams to solve customer impacting video conditions.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer is a technical point of escalation for video events.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer has knowledge in video system specific areas and surveillance that can effectively implement tier 2/3 documented processes and procedures.
-Complies with Content Operations Support Center objectives, policies/procedures, work schedules, and reporting metrics.
-Supports operational efficiencies and network performance improvements thru proactive surveillance and remote break-fix actions.

Job Requirements:
-Knowledge and operational use of video surveillance systems with troubleshooting and resolution experience.
-The Associate Content Operations Engineer will remotely troubleshoot and resolve video network issue.
-Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on verbal/written communication, including the ability to understand technical information and relay in concise manner to stakeholders.
-Must be able to remain calm and focused in stressful situations. This includes the ability to extract information using methodical troubleshooting processes focused on service restoration.
-Possess cross-organizational skills that maintain healthy working relationships.
-Good understanding of multicast IP video network architecture, data networking, system operations, and HFC cable systems.
-Requires working in 24x7 shifted operations environment.
-Experience working with command-line based applications using a UNIX or Linux OS.
-Background in performing and implementing video systems break-fix helpful. Familiarity with video monitoring tools, VOD, SDV, and video delivery architecture.
-Familiarity with network monitoring systems (Netcool, Big Brother), ticketing management systems (like Remedy/Jira) and video analysis/tools such as Textronix Sentry, IQ plus, IQ Dialog.
-Certification (current or past) in areas of expertise such as NCTI, SCTE, CCNA, a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
-3 - 5 years, experience in maintaining and troubleshooting video delivery or video applications.
-Hands on operational experience in building and operating content delivery systems.
-1-3 years, experience with internal or external direct customer contact in a technical environment - Field or NOC technician, Hub, Headend, VOD or Controller Operations, background within a MSO or vendor network environment.
-Willing to work in a shifted 24x7 operations environment.

Education and Experience:
Associates degree (AA. or A.S.) from two-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Travel Requirements:
Yes, Travel up to 5%
