About this job

The Housekeeping Host will ensure the operational abilities of the Housekeeping Department by preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from various activities and functions throughout the hotel. The major responsibility in this position is to clean guest rooms and bathrooms, and restock carts; therefore a significant portion of the workday is spent moving about, speaking, and listening, usually while standing

Responsibilities and job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Resolves guest complaints and satisfactions of the guest; responds promptly to any guest request for service.
  • Arrives at work in a timely fashion in accordance with the posted schedule.
  • Abides by established uniform guidelines
  • 4Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and philosophy of Hyatt Place. Displays dignity and respect of others at all times.
  • Maintains a "can do" and a "guest first" attitude at all times.
  • Works as a member of the overall hotel team to ensure that each guest has a n experience that exceeds their expectations
  • Attends scheduled training sessions within the hotel as dictated by the Hyatt brand and the hotel management
  • Cleans rooms and bathrooms to Hyatt Standards
  • Must be able to stand and demonstrate well paced mobility for periods of up to four hours at a time in an eight hour work period. Is required to take a 30 minute break during their eight hour shift.
  • Must be able to consistently bend, squat, stoop, reach and climb
  • Must have the ability to lift, pull, carrying items weighing approximately 25 pounds which occurs a majority of the time. Lifting, pulling or assisting in carrying items weighing 50 pounds or greater occurs occasionally.
  • Communicate with staff or guests. Close interaction with staff and guests is essential in this position to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with other departments within the hotel when necessary to help with guest needs
  • Reading and writing abilities are used often in reviewing and comprehending written instructions from superiors regarding assignments

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have ability to work weekends
