Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels.

PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth. This acquisition enables us to now operate in 800 retail stores, sell through over 4,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot. This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The delivery supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of customer deliveries and inter-store transfers for the group of assigned stores. The incumbent will use the tools provided (Telematics, GPS, Internal Delivery System) to coordinate a delivery management system that maintains the highest level of customer service, while also balancing business and financial expectations.

Qualifications

Expectations for this role include:
  • Managing all deliveries and inter-store transfers for the group of assigned stores. This includes receiving delivery and transfer requests; efficiently assigning and routing these requests; and ensuring that products are delivered to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Managing the use of outside carriers, which includes local courier services and LTL freight carriers. An effort should be made to limit these expenses, while maintaining customer satisfaction and business expectations.
  • Supervising a group of assigned drivers, ensuring that safety standards are maintained, speeding events and idling time are limited, and expenses are properly managed.
  • Ordering, retiring, and transferring vehicles in a way that benefits the market and/or the overall stores business. Vehicles expenses should be properly managed.
  • Ensuring that all assigned vehicles are properly maintained, which includes routine maintenance and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Maintenance expenses should be managed to limit cost when possible.
  • Ensuring that all assigned vehicles meet Safety, Store Audit, and DOT requirements.
  • Ensuring that all assigned drivers meet Safety, Store Audit, Training, and DOT requirements.
  • Reporting vehicle accidents immediately, while following the proper procedures.
  • Conducting training with store personnel on the delivery system as needed.
  • Reporting delivery system results each month as requested.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Logistics management experience.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Highly effective communication skills with the ability to be a change manager and nfluencer.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications.
  • Customer service experience and ability to resolve customer issues.
  • Valid Driver's License
