Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels.

PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth. This acquisition enables us to now operate in 900+ retail stores, sell through over 5,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot. This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

PPG is looking for a talented & seasoned SR. Manager, Adhesives & Sealants!

This position is responsible for setting and implementing the SBU’s strategy for the marketing and sale of adhesives and sealant products across the National Home Center, Dealer and company owned-store channels throughout North America.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • P&L responsibility for the adhesive and sealants

  • Drive business strategy execution and sales plan (short-, mid- and long term) aligned with the SBU strategy

  • Ensure alignment of marketing and technical functions across leveraging common technologies and distribution channel

  • Collaborate with the Adhesive and Sealants businesses in the Aerospace and Architectural OEM SBUs to leverage manufacturing and technical expertise

  • Drive future business initiatives, support innovation process and identify acquisition opportunities to further grow and enhance the category

  • Drive and implement capital investment plans, resource deployment, SBU channel alignment

  • Provide operational direction in activities that drive profitable growth and expand market share

  • Engage in active talent management and career development


Key Tasks:

  • Drive Adhesives and Sealants strategy execution including:

    • Product positioning

    • Pricing strategy

    • Point of Sale strategy

    • Marketing plans

    • Innovation pipeline

    • Supply Chain alignment

  • Regularly forecast and plan for sales and resource requirements

  • Direct channel sales teams that support the category

  • Identify new market segments and innovation opportunities


Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. 10+ years of experience

  2. Business degree with an MBA being preferred

  3. A proven record of achievement in marketing, sales and strategy development

  4. Managing multiple functional disciplines

  5. Credibility and leadership; capable of generating a high degree of respect and trust rapidly from all levels of the organization and customers

  6. Proven managerial capabilities, including outstanding people skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels and function both within and outside the organization.

  7. A hard-driving entrepreneurial leader with imagination and foresight to conceptualize innovative approaches to existing products, new products and new marketing opportunities as well as the implementation skills to bring them to fruition.

  8. Ability to manage and synthesize information, to see the “big picture,” to analyze and identify critical factors and directions in the formulation for strategic and tactical plans.

  9. Travel required is approximately 40% or more
