Responsibilities

 •Assist in managing the South Area Store Design program.
•Share the responsibilities for the South Area Design Committee which include approving all new designs and changes within existing stores and enforcing design standards.
•Design schematic drawings for all South Area retail locations, including new, move and renovation projects. Recommend placement of walls, fixtures, millwork, advertising collateral, and all back-of-house equipment.  Consider store placement in retail center, store elevations and overall visibility to walk-up and drive-by traffic when designing.  This scope includes retail stores, some VGRE projects as well as kiosks.
•Assist in managing the approval process on all retail store designs by working with various departments outside of Real Estate to ultimately obtain approval on all retail store designs. (i.e. marketing, sales ops and region sales)
•Assist in managing the design process with the national architect to obtain corporate approval for each design.
•Help direct and educate the region architects and construction project managers to ensure accurate and consistent execution of store design.
• Assist in managing the store design audit program to ensure finished product matches approved designs.

• Assist with various renderings, and/or 3D modeling projects conducted throughout the South Area.


•Help implement Go-To-Market South Area Retail Real Estate Operations projects by participating in National and Area launch core teams with direct interface to Marketing, Sales Ops, HQ Design and regional real estate teams.
•Share project management responsibilities for the Area Retail Real Estate team in managing construction, fixture installations, electrical and IT in support of GTM and roll-out actions.
•Help implement the self-service initiatives for all South Area retail store fixture roll-outs.
•Assist with the coordination of Area-wide retail store Facilities related vendor and product roll-outs.
•Manage within capital and expense budgets associated with GTM activities and multi-regional or area-wide roll-outs.

•Assist with the Verizon LEED Volume Program certification process to ensure that Verizon is maximizing the USGBC’s LEED point system to achieve the highest certification level possible.
•Coordinate the South Area LEED Volume Certification Program for new, move, renovated and expanded stores.
•Coordinate training for project/construction managers, facility managers and outsourced architects and general contractors on Verizon Wireless’ processes associated with the LEED Volume Certification program.

Qualifications

Experience:  
•Skill and knowledge should be acquired through a minimum of 5+ years experience in design and / or construction, preferable in the retail industry.
•Vendor and/or Contractor management skills.

Other:
•Proficient in Auto-CAD and/or Revit

•Experience with 3D Modeling and/or Rendering Programs
•Knowledge of industry standards and accepted construction practices, construction permitting processes, IBC and ADA codes, etc…
•Ability to read and understand construction documents (blueprints)
•Knowledge and experience with LEED construction practices and guidelines
•Ability to communicate with all levels of management and non-management
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
•Excellent organizational skills
•Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
•Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Degrees in Design, Construction, Architecture or a related field experience are preferred).
