Responsibilities

  • Work with New Product organizations, Finance and Capital Management to establish and manage Program Budgets, including AFEs (Authority for Expenditure).  Monitor, identify, communicate and escalate any delays or issues.
  • Serve as primary interface and escalation point of contact (POC) with Sourcing and third party vendors in support of all POs.  Create, track and manage Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) in multiple financial systems, including Corporate Financial System and VZW Peoplesoft; and monitor, escalate and resolve any delays.  Manage all goods receipts.
  • Establish and maintain the organization’s master PO tracking system.  Produce monthly report indicating total TYD spend, current month spend and projected spend.
  • Prepare project status and budget reports, including financial summaries as required, and support functional leaders in any financial status reporting required of them.
  • Obtain actuals from Corporate Finance and track Commitment View (CV) against the actual budget on monthly basis.  Analyze, communicate and resolve all discrepancies between the CV and actual.
  • Obtain validation and approvals to process vendor invoices.  Manage and track invoices against the POs and communicate and resolve any mismatches and funding issues.  Work with Accounts Payable (AP) to expedite past due invoices.
  • Establish and implement financial controls in order to manage financial risks, optimize spend, reduce redundancies and increase value of VZ Labs to Verizon.
  • Work with VZ Labs team, Legal and Sourcing on processing vendor contracts and Statements of Work (SOW).  Review vendor contracts and interpret and communicate financial impacts, key terms and conditions to program leadership.
  • Maintain copies of all contracts and SOWs and ensure third party invoicing and supporting documentation is in accordance with the contract terms.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with Corporate Finance Systems/SRM/SAP
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ Experience in a financial analysis role
  • Software Skills: Advanced MS Excel
  • BA or BS degree
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Competency using procurement tools:  vAPP, PeopleSoft, Fieldglass
