Brookdale has an opportunity to leverage its programs and services to develop new comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of seniors and their families. The Innovation Generalist will report to the Manager of Innovation and Strategy to accomplish the following objectives and responsibilities.

This position works with internal and external teams using human-centered design and innovation methodologies to envision, develop and incubate solutions that meet consumer needs and improve organizational processes. This includes designing and leading qualitative research, conducting hands-on innovation workshops and training, and collaborating on new product design. It also includes directing projects and products, incorporating monetization strategies, and leveraging internal and external resources.

Key responsibilities include:
* Develop business plans and operating models for new innovations, including but not limited to – solution offering, pricing, sales and marketing, resource requirements, technology requirements, financial projections, and determining optimal financial and operating relationship between communities, corporate departments and regional support functions
* Establish relationships as needed with third party providers
* Work with the financial team to develop sound financial models for the successful execution of new innovations including, pricing and P&L pro-formas
* Provide status updates and performance reports to senior leadership as needed. Present product ideas to senior management and seek approval for execution and launch
* Coordinate with Divisional and Regional Operations teams, on activities and initiatives in order to maximize effectiveness of new innovations
* Work with cross-functional teams to incubate ideas, outlining the process for taking the idea to market
* Translate research findings into prototypes and experiments for stakeholder groups to implement
* Responsible for product development of select new products
* Create, evaluate and analyze proposals for new business ideas, new lines of business and products

We seek the following principal qualifications:
* Ability to work cross-functionally and establish and manage a collaborative team environment
* Excellent project planning and management skills with an inclusive approach to team facilitation
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred
* Display strong public speaking and facilitation skills, compelling writing ability, comfort discussing a broad range of business topics, and keen passion for creativity and innovation
* Comfortable with ambiguity and want to continuously iterate approaches for getting innovation to “stick" in an organization
* Experience with some of the following: product development, product management, marketing, creative design, client relationship management and project management
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage competing priorities
* Motivated individual & strong team player
* Innovative approach & enthusiasm to learn/ explore
* Very strong analytic and problem solving skills
* Very strong communication and persuasion skills
* Word processing and related computer skills required
