Job Title: Cutting Tool Design Engineer Company Overview: The Urbana, Ohio Company is a manufacturer of tungsten carbide products for use in a wide range of industries such as the automotive, aerospace, medical, petroleum and woodworking industries. Our products primarily consist of cutting tools and wear products. The manufacturing process involves the use of powder metals, pressing, forming, sintering, and grinding operations. We are a locally owned, privately held, long-term growth oriented company. Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the design and creation of tungsten carbide cutting tools and wear products. Utilize our engineering software Solid Edge to create solid 3D models and all the required prints for manufacturing of the product and press tooling. Work directly with the customers, as well as internal customer service, technical sales and direct field sales as well as manufacturing personnel to finalize the design requirements. You will also be working with outside tooling vendors on the design and quotation of the required tooling. This person must be able to function in a fast pace environment that requires great focus, attention to details and the ability to multitask on a regular basis. • Work on daily product designs and project requirements • Process daily style entries • Producing 3D CAD models and all required drawings • Entering and recording data into multiple systems o Solid Edge o Filemaker o Vantage • Inspection and approval on new and repaired tooling • Provide support to our direct sales team and customer base • Work closely and communicate well with customer service, technical sales, manufacturing and outside die vendors • Have a pleasant, positive professional attitude and appearance • Self motivated and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done • Must have a “Can do” attitude • Other tasks as directed Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., Engineering or Manufacturing) is preferred. This person must be able to work within a team environment, exhibit good interpersonal skills, and 3 to 5 years work experience. This person must be self-motivated and well organized, and highly dependable with a very strong work ethic.
