Optum Partner Services is seeking a collaborative physician for mid-level providers at Optum Clinic locations that are open in the Houston area.


 


The ideal candidate will live within a reasonable commute to the Houston area and be available for face to face meetings as needed.


 


In this position, you will work with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to ensure high quality patient care and provide oversight and supervision consistent with Texas State Medical Board requirements. You will review a sample of the medical records and provide feedback to the provider including areas with opportunity for improvement. You will complete an assessment of the provider's performance on a monthly basis. 


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Execute a collaborative agreement with each assigned Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant

  • Performs medical record review per state mandated regulations

  • Attend, as required, conference calls related to initial and subsequent Physician training on the roles and responsibilities of a Collaborating Physician

  • Attend monthly team meetings to review difficult cases and discuss medical management of common diagnoses that may lead to unnecessary hospitalizations

  • Perform any other duties or services required by laws, rules or regulations relating to collaboration with the Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant 

Requirements


Required Qualifications:      



  • MD or DO with unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas

  • Board certification in family practice, general practice, internal  medicine, palliative medicine or geriatrics

  • 5+ years of clinical practice experience preferred

  • Knowledge of substantive documentation to meet clinical standards
