About this job



The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Group reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing all financial matters including the development of the Medical Group’s budgets, Revenue Cycle, financial reporting, financial planning, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing and third party vendor contracts.

The CFO is responsible for projecting financial outcomes, providing supporting operational and financial planning analysis and developing the “Group Economic Model” analysis. In collaboration with the health system, the CFO assures effective financial integration with the health system.

The CFO’s major responsibilities:
  • Advising the Executive Director and the health system CFO on the Group’s financial results, outlook and financial considerations stemming from operations and the annual plans.
  • Maintaining the accounting records for the Group and providing timely monthly financial statements on an accrual basis that include appropriate comparative benchmarks for the Group as a whole, and on each physician, medical office site and specialty.
  • Overseeing the group Revenue Cycle Management including charge capture, coding, billing denials management and collections.
  • Developing a long-range financial plan that addresses the development of the Group’s profit model.
  • Developing, with the Executive Director and other Group leadership and staff, a budget process and related metrics/benchmarks that promote alignment around the Group’s and health system’s goals and objectives.
  • Coordinating and assisting the Executive Director, Human Resources and medical leadership in the development of the physician compensation and incentive methodology, and then overseeing the administration of compensation and incentive payments.
  • Educating managers and medical directors about the financial considerations of practice management and development.
  • Providing assistance to managers and medical directors with the development and monitoring of their business unit budgets.
  • Serving as a liaison between the health system, and the Group to aide operating units with managing and operating their respective finances, developing and implementing financial management tools and systems, and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements.
  • Assisting in negotiation of vendor and payer contracts and the administration of Group contracts.


Desired Skills:

Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years as a CFO in a healthcare organization
  • Minimum of three (3) years in hospital budgeting, contracts, business development and financial analysis experience
  • Experience in Cost Reports, Medicare and/or Medicaid calculations and multihospital healthcare organizations preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from an accredited university with an emphasis in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Certifications as a CPA, CMA or Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred
  • Relocation would be provided
