Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary:

La Quinta Inns & Suites®, a leader in the hospitality industry, is currently searching for a maintenance supervisor to lead our hotel building maintenance department. This position offers growth and career advancement. Job responsibilities include: repairing and maintaining the interior and exterior of the hotel while following Company standards for quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and safety and security. Other key duties include:

Ensure the interior and exterior of the hotel is well maintained.Perform routine maintenance such as painting, carpet/floor cleaning, caulking, plumbing, electrical etc.Perform minor adjustments on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, room furniture, fixtures and other items in the hotel.Perform and lead duties of the company’s preventative maintenance program of building and hotel guest rooms.Report major repair needs to the General Manager.
Work and track projects daily to upgrade the quality of guest rooms.Train department and other staff members in technical duties, procedures, and standards.Supervise the operations of the maintenance department to ensure the achievement of productivity and quality service standards. Advise and consult with management in situations of poor employee performance and/or improper employee behavior that may require counseling and/or discipline.Assist management with preparing department work schedules and directing staff to adhere to schedules. Adjust schedules as needed to meet business demands.Participate in hiring and evaluation process. Ensure the department has sufficient amount of necessary supplies through supply inventories.

* Assist in other areas of the hotel as needed, such as collecting/delivering dirty linen to laundry, operating the hotel shuttle/van, and assisting with laundry or housekeeping as needed.
* hourly position/supervisory - wage based on experience.

Minimum Experience, Education, Skill & Physical Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of related general repair experience preferred in a supervisory position.Must be flexible in hours and days worked.Must have basic working knowledge of plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical, and/or other general repair skills.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 140 pounds with assistance.Must be able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull and twist the majority of the day. Must display very good organization and time management skills.
* Pool/spa certified or be able to be certified to maintain pool and spa responsibilities with state mandates.
