About this job

Position Description:

Energize your career with one of Healthcare's fastest growing companies.

You dream of a great career with a great company – where you can make an impact and help people.  We dream of giving you the opportunity to do just this.  And with the incredible growth of our business, it's a dream that definitely can come true. Already one of the world's leading Healthcare companies, UnitedHealth Group is restlessly pursuing new ways to operate our Service Centers, improve our Service levels and help people lead healthier lives. We live for the opportunity to make a difference and right now, we are living it up.

This opportunity is with one of our most exciting business areas: Optum –a growing part of our family of companies that make UnitedHealth Group a Fortune 14 leader.

Optum helps nearly 60 million Americans live their lives to the fullest by educating them about their symptoms, conditions, and treatments; helping them to navigate the system, finance their Healthcare needs, and stay on track with their Health goals. No other business touches so many lives in such a positive way. And we do it all with every action focused on our shared values of Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation, and Performance

The Network Admin Support position supporting Optum Salt Lake County account/business.  The volume of both customer support contacts and critical day-to-day organizational tasks of other functional areas would be negatively impacted if position is not extended, in turn posing a high risk of interference with meeting established deadlines.  Based on review of current call volumes, the average number of calls the Network team receives is a minimum of 20 per day involving both consumers and providers.  The contractor initially fields the majority of these calls and then refers to others on the team when appropriate.

The consumer calls involve identifying Mental Health services available within the community as well as explaining Medicaid Benefits.  In order to appropriately identify services, a number of questions are asked regarding geographic location, and type of services needed.  Frequently, problem solving is involved in determining appropriate referrals.  The Provider calls often focus on systems, billing, and credentialing issues.  The average length of time for consumer calls is 5 minutes and provider calls can be up to 20 minutes.

Additionally, projects assigned to this contractor have dramatically improved the turnaround time for day to day tasks and ensure an opportunity for timely completion of organizational expectations.  Prior to including this contractor on the team, return calls to providers could take up to a month.  Currently, these return calls occur within 24-48 hours.  With the volume of incoming calls remaining the same as well as established reoccurring job tasks required to maintain compliance with our customer, this customer/consumer/business support is invaluable as it allows the other functional teams an opportunity to complete other required job tasks so established deadlines can be met.
