Optum Payer Consulting is looking to expand their offerings within their Network and Population Health pillar. The group is planning to hire a clinical resource to support the expected growth of consulting-related opportunities on the payer and provider side.  This will support provider assessment and implementations of population health management capabilities and programs.  Between projects, it's expected that this resource will also support internal development of offerings and external business development efforts.


 


 


As a Clinical Network Population Health Consultant within our organization you will have the opportunity to perform the following types of activities:


 


 


Business Development (0% - 10% Time Allocation):



  • Support leads, pursuits, and proposals

  • Participate in business development-related discussions with clients as a clinical population health management for providers subject matter expert

  • Support the development of new NPH consulting solutions that will be brought to market, leveraging research and internal resources

  • Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients

  • Support the identification of opportunities for sales and business development collaboration with other Optum business segments

 


Program Delivery and Oversight (90 – 100% Time Allocation):



  • Responsibility for execution of PHM projects

  • Lead PHM-related work streams on larger and broader projects

  • Act as clinical subject matter expert, as required

  • Support the management of resources within projects, as necessary

  • Support program communication plan and execution, as necessary

  • Require that quality assurance methods are implemented within the program

  • Provide status updates and review of programs to senior leadership

  • Provide coaching and mentoring of project team with the goal of developing and retaining talent within the organization

 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Expertise in a number of NPH-related areas, including population health management, network management, quality, analytics, and/or compliance

  • Clinical degree e.g., RN, BSN, or PA

  • 1+ years population health management experience with the payer or provider side, e.g., transition management case management, care coordination experience

  • 3+ years enterprise project management experience

  • 5+ years healthcare background with extensive healthcare operations knowledge and experience specifically in population health management on provider side

  • Ability to travel up to 80% 

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience assisting writing and executing business plans for new consulting solutions

  • 5+ years working in Professional Consulting organization

  • Experience developing new business and identifying add-on work

  • Candidates located near Minneapolis, MN or Hartford, CT

  • MPH, CCM is preferred
