Public Relations/Special Events Assistant

Responsibility: Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens



Job Overview:



Seeking a highly creative, organized and motivated self-starter to assist with the execution of in-store special events, promotions and community relations as well as internal communications for Bloomingdale's Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens stores. This person reports to the Public Relations Manager.



Key Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of in-store event planning and execution, promotions and community outreach
  • Manage and oversee in-house public relations office including budgeting and administrative duties
  • Assist in cultivating relationships with local charities and media outlets
  • Cover responsibilities for two stores: Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens
  • Flexibility to working evenings and weekends
  • Weekly travel between Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens stores


Skills Summary:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in Public Relations, Marketing and/or Special Events
  • 4-year degree in public relations, communications or marketing
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills necessary
  • High-energy, independent worker, self-starter, resourceful and problem solver
  • Highly-organized, detailed and thorough, creative and positive
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Retail and/or fashion background a plus
