TMECHANICAL ASSEMBLY DEPARTMENT GROUP LEADER
1st shift, $20 hour, 6:30am - 3 pm with mandatory OVERTIME.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervise and coordinate activities of the Mechanical Assembly Department to ensure production schedules are met. Assemble sheet metal and mechanical components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Review work orders, product specs, and blueprints for scheduled work assignment within the department on the basis of priority and worker skill.
2. Assign duties to department members to coincide with current production schedules and ensure work is performed in a safe and qualified manner.
3. Requisition tools, supplies, and equipment for the department.
4. Supervise, train, evaluate, and discipline department members in coordination with the foreman.
5. Responsible for the safekeeping of all the company's tools assigned to the section, and the safe operation of such tools, machines, and equipment by department members.
6. Responsible for good housekeeping and following the company's safety practices such as 5S and the departments Safety Checklist to ensure a safe working environment.
7. Ensure proper recording of all travelers, process and inspection sheets, and time slips on a daily basis.
8. Perform activities such as assembling sheet metal and mechanical components.
9. Other assignments as assigned by the supervisor.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. CIT: establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement.
2. Maintain currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
2. 2 years of related experience, and a broad knowledge of the section and the operations of machines, equipment, and tools that will be used in the satisfactory performance of duties.
